Tennis Psychotherapy & Mental Performance Coaching
For Athletes Ready to Master the Game Within
Because Winning Starts in the Mind
You’ve trained your body. You’ve practiced the technique. But something still blocks your peak performance.
Whether it’s pre-match anxiety, emotional blowouts, perfectionism, or the quiet voice that whispers “you’re not enough,” tennis challenges more than your muscles—it challenges your identity.
As a former professional tennis player and now a licensed psychotherapist, I help tennis players master their inner game.
This is more than mindset coaching. It’s tennis psychotherapy—a nervous system-informed, performance-focused approach to help athletes regulate under pressure, build resilience, and reconnect with why they love the sport.

“You can’t play freely if your nervous system is in survival mode.”
My Background: From Court to Clinical Practice
I’m Christine Walter—licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), ICF Certified Coach (PCC), and former pro tennis player. I’ve lived this world from both sides.
I understand the culture, the pressure, the silence around mental health in sports. I know what it’s like to love the game and still suffer emotionally inside it. That’s why I created this work—to help athletes thrive from the inside out.
My approach blends over a decade of clinical experience with my on-court understanding of what it takes to compete, evolve, and heal.

What is Tennis Psychotherapy?
Unlike generic sports psychology or coaching, tennis psychotherapy addresses the emotional root of performance blocks—by combining:
-
Trauma-informed therapy tools (to heal past emotional wounds from coaching, injuries, or performance shame)
-
Nervous system regulation (to stabilize reactions under pressure)
-
Mental performance coaching (to rewire negative patterns and create flow-state readiness)
-
Solution-focused tools (to set clear, future-oriented goals with real movement)
It’s not about being tougher.
It’s about becoming more emotionally intelligent under pressure—so your performance can reflect your true potential.
